dancing and pirates
Nov. 25th, 2003 09:34 amLast night Petra and Sheila and I worked on our dancing for my birthday dance night at Amira (12/30). We have chosen the music we're going to do and now we're thinking about ways we might interpret each song. Not choreographing the way one would a cabaret piece but talking about who might lead which parts and talking about interpretations. We picked mostly Turkish and Armenian tunes. I'm going to solo to Saroyan's version of Aziza (it is a little peppier than some of my other versions). I need to find time to work on that and on the dance bra I'm working on.
I am working on the invitation to our New Year's Eve & Birthday Pirate Party. Gotta get those out so my friend's will be able to schedule! It may be too late even now. But it is my 50th birthday and I'm bloody well having a party even if only a few people can come. Sheila aka "Treasure Chest" is going to reprise her role of helping people figure out their pirate names and handing out "Hello my Name is" tags. *LOL* That was a very silly thing at Amacker's Pirate Party a few years ago. I am lusting after the Pirate bath mat at Archie McPhee's and the pirate mardi gras beads at Beads by the Dozen. I need to find a source for Armida Winery's Poizin Zinfandel. It is too expensive to get much of it but I can't resist the pirate bottling! Any other ideas for Piratical fun?
