Your recent statement on health care is affirming... but I wish you would explicitly advocate for a "public option", as inadequate as that is, to solve the health care crisis in this country. But at least it is something.

I'm not surprised that the millions of dollars per day the insurance companies are spending on Washington lobbying have derailed any meaningful health care reform. But I am saddened. I feel abandoned by my government and I see no end to the downward (or is that upward) spiral of spending as fat cat insurance execs line their pockets at the expense of the people.

Health care, the most basic care of those in need, should not be a for-profit enterprise. People should not fear losing all that they have worked for when faced with catastropic accident or major illness. Please, please do not settle. Fix our broken system.

Thank you.

Well, in one year we get to vote for a new president. I took this quiz awhile back but just haven't felt like posting it. It did introduce me to candidates I was unaware of.

Below are the candidates ranked by how much you agree with their stances.
Dennis Kucinich Score: 50
Chris Dodd Score: 44
Mike Gravel Score: 43
Barack Obama Score: 43
Hillary Clinton Score: 43
Bill Richardson Score: 41
John Edwards Score: 37
Joe Biden Score: 35

Rudy Giuliani Score: 27
Ron Paul Score: 23
Mitt Romney Score: 15
Jim Gilmore Score: 10
John McCain Score: 8
Sam Brownback Score: 4
Duncan Hunter Score: 3

I guess what brought politics up for me was Dianne Feinstein supporting Michael Mukasey. I was so pissed to hear that on the radio this morning. I fired off a letter first thing. *sigh* How can a California senator possibly support someone who won't disavow torture and thinks the president can do whatever he wants? Haven't we had enough idiot attorneys general in recent years?! *grumble*

Katrina:The Gathering. In a way it makes me wonder if the serious political cards my friend Gus worked on awhile back ever took off.

I also just think it is cool that there is a Java program to create Magic cards. I don't have any particular theme that I need to make cards around. But that's cool.
