my weekend
Apr. 14th, 2003 07:37 amWell, this big weekend is over. Teri & Bob's 120th birthday party went off despite the rain (the ride over Hwy 17 was the worst I've *ever* seen it!). The rooms are a *little* small for a Morris Team in full stick dance to have any actual spectators but the folks were having enough fun dancing that that didn't really seem like a hindrance. The food was fabulous. Teri had prepared *lots* of salmon and side dishes and this crew are all folks who think any party is an excuse to cook. I think I mostly spent the afternoon eating! We decided to head home before dark rather than face 17 in the rain and that was probably a good idea. There was this accident around a blind curve that would have been much harder to avoid in the dark. We didn't get to stay late enough for cake and present opening, which I always enjoy. *sniff*

While the rest of the world is trying to get landmines eliminated because they cause so much collateral damage. What is the US doing - working on self-healing hopping land mines -- http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/5/30225.html Y'know, I am finding it really hard to hold my head up and say "I'm an American" at the moment.
