Monday - worked, went to bellydancing. I had gotten some mardi gras beads with fasteners at Global Beads on Friday so we all tried belly beads Monday. That was a bit of fun. I have definitely lost all kinds of control since the last time I used them! It felt really nice to be wearing them again though. I am tempted to wear them under my clothes when I wear loose things so I can undulate my belly and get back some muscles. :-) I got home and visited with Russell and [livejournal.com profile] ocean_song and went to sleep.

Found a couple flash videos of Melissa Etheridge songs, Scarecrow, for Matthew Shepard, and Silent Legacy. I've seen a lot of things lately that tempt me to learn how to do flash animations. Wow.

Tuesday - a patent meeting at work. It is always a chance to see my work as part of the invention process. I really like hearing what folks are working on all put together in a disclosure.

In the evening Russell and I went to see Bending it Like Beckham which was a light and fun movie. Russell grumbles that he could have written the script from the trailers. I didn't mind. It was exactly as advertised and I really liked the young actresses involved. The juxtaposition of the Sikh wedding and the soccer match was brilliant. *LOL*

We got home and [livejournal.com profile] ocean_song was still packing for her trip. I went on to bed as I had to get her to the airport by 5:15 am. I think she was up most of the night. Nonetheless I delivered her safe to the airport this morning with bags packed. :-)

So I'm in nice and early and checking out the Interfaith Pagan Pride Parade photos by Jason Robinson and by Dave Sherry. For a change we don't have any because our official duties kept Russell from his usual photo taking. *sniff* I hope someone got a portrait of us. Although Jason has a pretty good one of us and Don walking between Ancient Ways and Freya's Folk that has us and lots of friends. :-)

Russell sent me the story of the Honda Accord "Cog" commercial and a site to view the film. I'm sure I saw "The Way Things Go" but I don't remember it all that well. This is definitely cool. I can't believe they did it over 600 times to get the continuous shot!

Reading http://www.lisnews.com/, another library comm unity blog, (which someone mentioned at the Solo Librarian's meeting last week) led me to the following stories -

An interesting blog entry about the power of meme spreading in blogs with jus t the small sample of folks who looked at the Google Alphbet page. Cool page, btw.

SF Authors Protest Patriot Act. I *love* the part about stopping by a library and checking "subversive" books -- such as the Koran, the Anarchist Cookbook and Teach Yourself French. *chortle*

Okay, so I have to be on the LIS News mailing list. Wish it had an RSS feed. I love getting librarian.net and the other library feeds on Lj!
