Politics

Well, in one year we get to vote for a new president. I took this quiz awhile back but just haven't felt like posting it. It did introduce me to candidates I was unaware of.

Select a Candidate Quiz - http://www.wqad.com/Global/link.asp?L=259460

Below are the candidates ranked by how much you agree with their stances.
Dennis Kucinich Score: 50
Chris Dodd Score: 44
Mike Gravel Score: 43
Barack Obama Score: 43
Hillary Clinton Score: 43
Bill Richardson Score: 41
John Edwards Score: 37
Joe Biden Score: 35

Rudy Giuliani Score: 27
Ron Paul Score: 23
Mitt Romney Score: 15
Jim Gilmore Score: 10
John McCain Score: 8
Sam Brownback Score: 4
Duncan Hunter Score: 3

I guess what brought politics up for me was Dianne Feinstein supporting Michael Mukasey. I was so pissed to hear that on the radio this morning. I fired off a letter first thing. *sigh* How can a California senator possibly support someone who won't disavow torture and thinks the president can do whatever he wants? Haven't we had enough idiot attorneys general in recent years?! *grumble*

My guess is that Senator Feinstein figures it's better to have Mukasey in as AG than to continue with the acting AG, Peter Keisler, who we might be stuck with for the next year if Mukasey isn't approved.

Good for you! I hope Feinstein takes a lot of heat from us for this latest spineless capitulation to the Bush agenda! Have you seen or read Keith Olbermann's special comment on this from last night? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21644133/

No, I hadn't. Thanks for pointing it out to me. I'm so glad Mr. Olbermann continues to speak truth to power.

I am uncomfortable with many of Feinstein's positions regarding our fundamental liberties. She's consistently voted to have our speech monitored or our privacy invaded, and I suppose the Mukaesy thing just sees consistent with all that. I don't think she really values my rights particularly.

Yes, the US office of attorney general is quite the embarrassment these days. Doesnt look to be getting any better either. Glad you wrote to Feinstein!

I took the quiz and Kucinich ranked highest for me too..followed by Richardson who I generally like and try to support.
