Petra and Chris have been duly wed. It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have attended. Ardenwood is a lovely venue, the wedding party were very well turned out. Petra's gown was a classic San Francisco (or maybe New Orleans) Victorian style with a fully beaded bodice. Her hair was in banana curls with peacock feathers and roses adorning it. The reception was a fabulous party with folks dancing for hours. Chris' Armenian relatives got us up doing line dances, the many bellydancers strutted their stuff and everyone was just filled with exhuberance and joy. Yay.

I got up this morning and lazed about a bit reading a trashy novel and then headed off to the post-wedding brunch. The food was lovely and watching Petra open presents was a blast. We decided rice cookers are the toasters of the current generation. They got 3 or 4! *LOL* And lots of the Fiesta Ware they requested. And lots of other lovely things.

I considered heading to the City to the Castro St. Fair to see [livejournal.com profile] rutemple's booth but it just seemed too far away. I saw Under a Tuscan Sun at the Pruneyard and it was a nice piece of fluff. Not a great movie but a good movie with hope and over coming challenges. And Tuscany is beautiful. I wonder if they will get a rash of American divorcees moving there in search of happiness. *LOL*

Now I am awaiting my friend Elsa so we can go out to dinner. I called her this morning to see if I could send the application for C&P's handfasting certificate directly to her (so it wouldn't get lost in the transition of membership officers at Samhain) and she said she would be on this side of the hill. I haven't had a good long chat with her in way too long so I suggested dinner.

Russell will be home tomorrow night and I am really ready for that! I hate it when we're apart for this long. I never sleep quite as well and I would have loved to have shared the wedding with him. I hope his retreat and the workshop he was leading are doing well. Evidently there is no cell service. I haven't heard from him at all. *sigh* I languish, missing my beloved.
