New Years weekend

On Sunday we spent a quiet morning (breakfast at Mini Gourmet) until Erika & Reaps arrived from Folk Music Camp about 1pm. Reaps and I went out caching whilst Russell and Erika visited. We found two out of three, the unfound one being a cache I had looked for before without success. The owner was there just ten days ago and insists that it is there to be found but I surely don't know where to look. There is a new campaign of Unite for Diabetes Travel Bugs and I had picked one up a couple days before and needed to drop it and some others I had been carrying. The holidays (and my accident) sure cut down on my caching!
Sunday night we celebrated Russell's birthday by going to a party at our friend Cinnamon's with a bunch of friends from the Sacred Connections community. It was a really wonderful party and we did a ritual at midnight to send out healing energy to the world. I got to bed about 2:30am but didn't suffer for it particularly on Monday. I didn't drink my though except carrot juice and diet Dr. Pepper (botho which I brought with me, needless to say). I'm decided starting the anti-acid diet rather than drinking champagne (I had a few swallows for the toast) was the better part of valor. *sigh*
We spent a quiet afternoon, watching The Prize Winner of Defiance, OH from Netflix. We got a lovely surprise call from
elimloth asking if we were available for dinner with him and
spiritmoving before they caught their flight back to Seattle. We went to McCormick & Schmick and the planked salmon was right on my diet. Oh yum! We had a wonderful chance to visit and we saw them off at the airport before going home to bed.
mdlbear posted this awhile back but I missed it until he mentionied it this morning... gotta keep it for my files! His Noodliness in lights. I still want a pirate ship in lights... but the FSM would also be good!
12/31 - a beeswax rose candle from Marina and a paper marbling kit from Fiona
1/1 - The Twelve Terrors of Christmas by John Updike illustrated by Edward Gorey from Russell's Mom. Huh. Nothing too terrible or interesting. Even the Gorey drawings are dull.
Is anyone else annoyed that LJ won't let you back-post into December?! I wanted to post the year-end wrap up holiday letter I sent to get it in my LJBook for the year but the system only knows about January. *sigh*
*grumble*
