spinning & flagging

I recently ordered some flags from Philip Bryan of Flagger Boy. They are really beautiful! If you look in the purchased section for Chrome V you'll see mine in action. They have a weighted corner and you spin them kind of like poi.

So yesterday at lunch I got together with Brad and Dan to practice poi spinning and flagging. It was really fun and the lunch hour sped by. They are both much more accomplished spinners than I and I'm really happy they are letting me play. We used the basketball square to practice in and it was such a beautiful day. There was the smell of cut grass and the sound of birds and the temperature was perfect. And my arms and shoulders are even sore this morning!
I moved my balloon pictures that I've posted here to a web gallery to make them easier to share with folks who don't read my journal. *grin*

cool flags!

Wall hangings are good ideas, in my brain, but I've also always loved the idea of silk kites and flags and - goodness, flags to play with!?
hmm... she hmm'd.

I love silk. I wonder how difficult it is to paint silk. Those flags are beautiful. The guys hot too. Gives new meaning to the words Spectators' sport.
