Movies, books and shopping
Jun. 12th, 2012 01:51 pmThis weekend we were supposed to go to Maria's wedding but Russell's twisted ankle and the general craziness made that just too much. I had also hoped to go to Geraldmas, but I couldn't face driving to the East Bay two days in a row. So Russell and I went to see Hysteria which was rather disappointing. We had really liked the Vibrator Play that the Berkeley Rep did and hoped for something of equal quality. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single character who was plausible for the 1880's and it was just sooooo Hollywood.
In WoW news, I got my healer Roszantha to lvl 80 so that she could go to Sarth 3D with DotA as that activity is winding down as people have their drakes. She got to be killed by Sarth, Malygos and Onyxia (well, by an add at Ony). It was awesome.
Sunday Kurt & I headed off to the Adocentyn Research Library for a work party. Don, Anna, Glenn, George and me from the Board were there plus Kurt & Dewey and various wonderful volunteers who came to catalog books. We started at 11am and when Kurt & I left around 4pm we had probably gotten about 300 more books into the librarything database. They were going to 6pm, so hopefully closer to 400. (Actually, looking we currently have 1,378 books in the database and I think we started at about 885, so yay). We do need a better process for actually getting slips printed for books on the shelves but this was a great start! There will be more work parties, please consider helping out!
Upon arriving at home, Russell and I decided to go see Snow White and the Huntsman. It was very beautiful and I liked it, although it was a bit of a travelogue and could have stood some editing.
Monday I went off to Gilroy to the outlet mall and got some new bras (which was my main aim since that is the closest Bali outlet) but didn't have much luck with actual clothes. "Modern fit" pants are ridiculous. I have shrunk past Jones New York or I might have bought a suit but the 14W pants in that brand were way too big. I really don't have much in the way of "interview clothes", but I guess I won't worry about it. I have a couple things that will do and hopefully whatever job I take will have a fairly relaxed dress code.
