Memorial Day & protest Prop 8
May. 27th, 2009 08:20 amSo, let's see... what have I been up to lately? Working. Fussing with my computer which still has problems (I'm waiting for a part to come in).
I had a nice quiet Memorial Day weekend. Erika was visiting and we had some lovely times together. It is so nice to have a good breakfast place within walking distance!
I didn't go over to BayCon as I didn't remember I had a membership. I was really sick this time last year and was very unclear on whether I had bought one. And I never got a progress report from them so I assumed I hadn't. When I went in on Monday to buy a one-day membership and get next year's lined up... they said "oh, you have a membership for this year". Dang. I probably would have at least hit the Tempest concert and a couple of other things. But I admit it was fairly freeing to have four days with pretty much no "got to be somewhere" energy. I napped, read the Ursula Le Guin books I had bought at Potlatch, played WoW, hung out with friends and just generally had a great weekend.

mr_kurt and I went down to the march from Plaza Cesar Chavez to San Jose City Hall along with about 200 people. There were some good speeches at both ends. Here is the coverage from KGO. You can see a 1/4 second of me in my rainbow silks spinning but if I didn't know it was me, meh. LOL It was good to march and be with like minded folks, even if it will be a ballot fight in the future.
