All the vacation business is tiring! After work in Thursday I headed to the Tied House in Mountain View to meet Master Georger, Dave in Tucson, who was one of the beta testers for the site back in 1998 and is probably the "oldest" Georger still entering bills. After sharing some calamari with Gremlin and good conversation with a handful of Georgers, I headed off to [livejournal.com profile] spikeiowa's open house and had a nice visit (and some lovely cider) with her and a couple of other early comers. Then I had to head home for my monthly massage with Tina. Yay.

Friday I got up early and did my usual Friday morning things. Then Russell and I went to Body Worlds at The Tech Museum. What a very interesting exhibit. I was impressed by how much information was presented and how well. It was physically challenging though with lots of standing in line and lots of crowds all trying to get to displays. If you are interested in anatomy and how the body works, it is fascinating. They had various things like hip replacements and other orthopedic appliances, and the lungs from non-smoker, smoker and coal miner to compare and various other pathologies as well as healthy specimens.

Then I met [livejournal.com profile] mr_kurt at the Camera 7 to see Sweeney Todd. I thought they did a great job and Tim Burton's goth sensibilities were great fun. I did flinch with every death though and I really don't need the final vision of Helena Bonham Carter in my brain. But I'm glad I went.

Then I headed to Whole Foods to buy something to cook for dinner for Russell and Zoe and I. I got a deal on some cracked crab and ended up making tortellini with pesto, salad and fresh bread to go with the crab. Plus a couple of bottles of Normandy cider. We feasted and visited. And I hopped inworld for a dragon dance party... which I mention mostly for the chance to blog a snapshot of my Bast Wyrmling.

This morning Russell and I drove Zoe home to Oakland and then went caching. We walked up the Sausal Creek trail and got a 2.5/2.5 cache about 1/2 a mile in. Triumph! We found a TB hotel and missed out on a trailhead cache. It was getting kind of wet and spitty to add to the cold greyness of the day, so we bagged it and headed home to finish up the crab.

And here I sit checking mail and such before meeting [livejournal.com profile] mr_kurt and [livejournal.com profile] saffronrose in a couple of hours to see National Treasure II. We see all the worst movies together. *grin*

My imagination was insufficient to imagine how bad a movie National Treasure: Book of Secrets could be. I wasn't expecting much... but wow. [livejournal.com profile] mr_kurt opined the writer's strike must have started early. They took all the worst parts of the first movie and magnified them. The plot holes are enormous, the action unbelievable and what's up with the ancient cities all using oil channels that people with torches/flares can come and illuminate the treasure with. That hasn't evaporated or dried to sludge in 300 years or anything. *shakes head* Wow. Please, don't bother. The first movie was a bit of a romp and I was willing to give them a second chance. Bad idea.

OTOH, it was a fairly warm night and I got to ride Big Eli, the ferris wheel, one last time. Tomorrow is the last day of the Winter Wonderland. If it isn't awful perhaps I will ride again. Ferris wheels make me very happy. My whole self goes "Wheeeeeee!" I do realize that sounds daft. Nevertheless, wheeeeeee!!!!
