Pride and the aftermath
Jun. 27th, 2007 09:33 amSunday was Pride and I had volunteered to do the first shift on donations for the Pagan Alliance. So from 10am to 12:30 I walked with a partner throughout the Civic Center area hawking "Support your Pride, get your drink stickers". We weren't on a gate, we were the roving sticker vendors. Then Russell joined me (he had been at the actual parade taking pictures) and we walked off site and had a wonderful lunch at a crepe place. It was so nice to be away from the pounding music for awhile! We went back for the 3:30 Pansy Division concert. They played some old faves and some things from their upcoming album but the sound quality was really awful. By then I was seriously hurting and beginning to droop. We headed for home right after. When we arrived I totally collapsed.
Monday I went to work but it was fairly heavy going. My body ached all over and my back wouldn't let me stand up straight. I keep telling myself this is just about getting older and overdoing it. But I decided to spend Tuesday working from home (at least a little) and doing muscle relaxants. We had tacos for 4th Tuesday because that is Fiona's favorite and she is back for othe summer from college. *grin* Tina came over afterward and gave my back a massage. I fell right over again afterward and this morning I'm not so bad. Whew. I still feel like I need to be careful but I do think it is just normal overdoing things. I am kind of amazed though, I mean, I walked further in Denver. And I'm not *that* out of shape. *shrug* Bodies. Who knows?
