Well, I almost wrote a journal entry yesterday but my thumb drive wouldn't load at first so I spent the time backing it up instead. *grin* And I really felt pretty yucky anyway and it was getting really late. But I jump forward. Back to Friday last...
I have a wonderful, loving lazy day. The sun was shining with a cool breeze blowing. Perfect for walking. Perfect for company. I walked through the neighborhood and found an actual lavender hedge. The renaissance garden we have been working on wanted a lavendar hedge. So I took its picture and made a texture that looks pretty darn good. The world really does need better masking tools though. Around dinner time I met the other House of Inanna ladies and looked at Fabric for costumes. I wandered into a Vietnamese grocery and bought some very yummy "fruit chips" - taro, jackfruit, sweet potato, pineapple and something else. Not clear to me that those are fruit rather than starches in some cases. *grin*
Saturday I went off to a Gardnerian gathering that was scheduled to take the whole day, but Russell and I bailed around 2pm. I just couldn't sit in thoae chairs any longer. We grabbed a cache and headed for a housewarming for one of Russell's co-workers. It wasa lovely downtown Victorian, 1886, they said. And very well restored. All in all, it was a very long day!
Sunday morning I worked on texture making some more and we went and saw Black Book, the movie about the Nazis in Holland toward the end of WWII. I thought it was very well done. The characters were complex and human. I started reading the Parable of the Sower right afterwards (Octavia Butler's dystopian novel being the subject of this month's book talk at the Talis SF&F library inworld). Somehow there was a resonance among the choices of desperate people.
Monday I got a lot done at work but had horrible gastric distress most of the day. Luckily Russell was out so I had the house (bathroom) to myself. I didn't get a lot of sleep and decided to stay home today. Bleah. Since I haven't eaten solid food I'm feeling better. I hope I'm *actually* feeling better. So I spent a bit of time inworld today, helped out a new university person, went to the book talk, went to a buildling class. Tried to sleep. Did I say bleah? It is April, the sun is shining... colds be gone!
P.S. My MacBook Pro is on order, thanks to Russell. :-)
