Florida fun
Aug. 13th, 2006 07:06 pmWell, Saturday I spent all day on airplanes. I really have no complaint of the airline (except for the lack of decent food) but oh, my fellow passengers. However did I book myself on "screaming kid express"! I will refrain from ranting. It served its purpose and delivered me to
rubibees who swept me off to their home and fed me and let me come down a bit.
After a bit we went to Little Havana and had dinner at La Caretta for Cuban food. I found I wasn't as hungry as my ambitions so I had leftovers for breakfast. And then we ate Rayna's leftovers for lunch. *grin* Yum!
Sunday morning we all slept in. Thus we didn't get out on our caching expedition until 10am rather than "in the cool of the morning" as we had planned. *laugh* Mad dogs & Engishmen and mad geocachers go out in the noonday sun in 100+F weather. We went for four regular sized caches so I could get some bugs out into the world and
rubibees released a bug from
elvisomar. It is amazingly different to look for things in palmetto scrub. It is hard for me to see what is "out of place" because it is all unfamiliar. It was nice to find big caches though. Rayna tells me I will see plenty of micros in ficus trees in the days ahead. *grin*
We got home and
greenwapiti manifested a most amazing feast - fresh made corn tortillas filled with black beans, fish, cheese and other toppings including an amazing spiced sour cream for which I *must* have the recipe! Fourth Tuesday this month is going to be a taco feast (at Fiona's request for her last pre-college dinner) and I really would like to share that amazing flavor. Many of the folk of Beachfyre came to dinner and we had a lovely evening of visiting and sharing wonderful food and stories. I am filled and happy in so many ways.
