We went out to the Mini Gourmet for breakfast and then down to Whole Foods to shop for my dinner party - Brigd & Fiona and Kurt & Marina were to join us for dinner. They had lovely fresh Tombo which was just what I was hoping for. Then we went to the Farmer's Market and got all sorts of things for salad and bok choy for veg. My fave smoked salmon vendors and the Russian bakery weren't at the market this week. I settled for alder smoked salmon from the fish vendor but it wasn't as good. I made salmon & cream cheese stuffed heirloom tomatoes and celery as an appetiser. Appetiser is a good idea... I felt much less anxious whilst out grilling the fish... I could leave people with conversation and food. :-) Brigid came out and visited while I grilled. It was really nice to hang out together in the dark just talking. We don't get much alone time these days I realize. The dinner party was a great success. Tasty food and excellent conversation. Fiona had PSATs Saturday morning so they had to leave at 9pm but Kurt & Marina and the folks and Russell and I visited until about 10pm. Definitely a wonderful evening.
