Gee, where has the week gone? I really thought I posted something personal since Monday... but I'm wrong. Monday I skipped dancing to get stuff for Tuesday dinner. So Tuesday I cooked and had friends over. It was my dear friend Gary's last 4th Tuesday as a resident (he and his lady have bought a place up in Washington). *sniff* I'll miss knowing he's around even though we don't see much of each other. We share a birthday and have many year's history of birthday sushi dinners together. It was a fun and tasty (even if I say it who shouldn't) dinner.

Wednesday I had a nice lunch with Chris & Carole and Chris & Petra and Russell at the Hunan Home on El Camino. Quite nice Chinese food but watching the crabs in the tanks was a little creepy somehow. It was fun to see folks. Even though everyone had been at dinner the night before with a table of 14 and them at the other end we hadn't had a chance to visit. Wednesday night Russell and I went to the Greenery Press tenth anniversary party but got home to bed at an almost reasonable hour. *wry grin*

Thursday I had a Bridge CC meeting to process how our pre-Parliament event went on Sunday and layout a time table and meeting schedule for our next one. (November 16th in SF - please contact me if you're interested in attending!) This time we dealt with water. The next Parliament theme we're going to tackle is refugees. This seems to me a much harder and more controversial topic but it seemed to resonate with our core group. What does providing "refuge" mean for religions. How can communities deal well with refugees who come from different cultures? I understand that is a big topic in Barcelona and the rest of Spain. There is an interfaith immigrant group in SF that we'll talk to about coordinating things. And Pathways to Peace has signed on to help too. Things are moving and getting bigger! Wheeee!

Friday I had a lovely, lovely day and then spent the evening with Russell. It was nice to get a bit of a rest because the weekend was packed!

Saturday I headed out to the Rakkasah Summer Caravan in Oakland which I hit just at noon when it opened. After 1-1/2 hours of concentrated shopping I have most of what I need for my water elemental fish costume for the mask ritual at MerryMeet. I am really happy to have found such cool stuff. I wavered over buying a rather amazing black and red outfit (choli, double skirt & scarf) which I wish I had bought the scarf from as it would make good Pomba sacra. Oh well. She was pushing but not too hard so I will probably find something better down the line. I had spend quite enough as it was! Russell doesn't tease me about being the "Imelda Marcos of Scarves" for nothing. *chortle*

Then I headed over to an AMUH developmental meeting/class. It was very cool and I think meeting the deities in that context is a good idea for me. That took the rest of my afternoon. I rushed out of there at 6pm to make it home to a movie (The Swimming Pool) that started at 7pm. Hah! The traffic gods were not with me. I called Russell and told him to go without me. I decided when I hit San Jose at about 7:20 that I would be useful and do some grocery shopping which I had been too busy to do all week. I did so and then went home and watched the pilot of Queer as Folk on DVD. Gee. I didn't know cable had gotten so explicit. My 1/2 hour of tv a week (Ebert & Roeper) just doesn't prepare me for today's television sensibility. Wow.

Sunday we headed up to the City where we ran into lots of friends and had a lovely morning at Dore Alley and then headed out to Fort Point where the fog was coming in. Someone had suggested it for the Eleusinian but there is no way to get to the water from the fort and the winds are much worse than at the Battery that is our alternative. *shiver* No way. It was cool to watch the fog engulf the Golden Gate though. I've always loved Fort Point.

Russell and I came home and puttered for a bit and then I grilled some pork chops and we watched some of the Nouvelle Experience (Cirque du Soleil) dvd that is another current netflix pick. Then I checked in to my Pirate MUU which is moving slowly at the moment. I want to write but I don't know how to advance the story. Oh well. Perhaps I'll just go to bed!
