Getting ready for the weekend
Jun. 27th, 2003 03:53 pmI continue to write pirate fiction. I'm having a lot of fun! Moira Rose has a job at the local shipping company and is settling into life in 1663 Saint Domingue. :-)
Last night I went home with Kurt & joined him and Marina at English Country dancing. I hope to do that at least once a month (they meet 2nd & 4th Thursdays). I got to dance with Bob and Jeff and Isaac and Kurt and had a wonderful time. That is the nicest group! And what a great assortment of musicians! Really cool. I'll be much more ready for Playford next year. :-)
This morning I came home and have been working on packing. I just can't quite figure out what I'll need. Something colorful but practical to wear at the margarita booth at the Pride Celebration (the the Interfaith Pagan Pride parade booth will be at Grove & Larkin - come on by!). Something fun to wear to Madame S. for the Manning book signing. Something to wear out to dinner at Cityscape. Can I wear something outrageous to Madame S. and wear the same thing to the top of the Hilton. Hmmm. Then something practical for safety monitoring during the Sunday's Parade. Something warm that I can wear under my "fashion disaster tshirt" so that the word "safety" is visible from both sides. I wonder if the heat wave will break. I hate heat wave parades. Everyone is crazier somehow. They are expecting a million people on Sunday. It turns out that Micha got Russell and I VIP passes for the grandstand and the Armistead Maupin reception/award ceremony as IPP Grand Marshalls. Since I'm working the Parade I can't use the former but I do want to go to the reception. I guess I should think about what to wear to that. Eeep! I think I need a bigger suitcase!
We'll be staying in the City at the Hyatt, so I don't expect to post or read Lj over the weekend. Yes, its true. I'm going away for two days without my laptop. The world must be coming to an end. :-)
