daily life and pirates
Jun. 25th, 2003 06:08 amOkay, I admit I am totally behind on Lj -- spending too much time working out how to be a pirate over at Pan Historia. The character I have created can't be accessed without logging in which I think is a shame really. I suppose it is all to prevent plagarism but it would be fun to share. Perhaps I'll post her bio behind a cut tag. :-)
Besides madly reading to try to orient myself in a three year old MUU and researching pirates in the Caribbean in the 1600's, I have been working and playing hard. Monday night we didn't actually get any dancing done as we had a stitch 'n' bitch to try and get our tribal costume bras started. I'm glad I don't have the deadline of next month's hafla, but I'm glad to be well started.
Tuesday was Tuesday dinner. Lee H., and husband Mike, were visiting in town from Alaska for Aikido camp and made time to come and join the table. It was really nice to see them but I didn't get a chance to visit really because I was either off grilling the fish (halibut) or otherwise being hostessly. The table was raucous and fun and the food was polished right off. Russell said he thinks this is the best I've ever judged it... no leftovers but no hungry people either. That is pretty satisfying. Of couse, it does help when everyone who rsvp's actually shows up. I think that is my main source of leftovers. I'll cook for 14 and get 12 or something. And some things it is *nice* to have leftovers. Fish just isn't one of those. :-)
( more than you ever wanted to know about my character, Moira Rose )
