more library humor
Mar. 31st, 2003 11:01 amOh my.
liveavatar had a link to the Librarian Avengers page about "What They Didn't Teach Us in Library School." I hadn't visited that in awhile and am once again reminded how happy I am not to be a public librarian!
My favorite so far:
How to explain to the woman who brought her books back in a knotted plastic bag and dumped them into our indoor bookdrop that she must pay for the damage since her books were saturated with cat piss. Also, how to explain that no, there is no way a cat could have gotten into the building, crawled into the front desk bookdrop, opened her plastic bag, urinated on her books, closed the plastic bag, and escaped, sight unseen--the damage had to have been done prior to the books being returned. Waging peace
Mar. 31st, 2003 04:10 pmA nice flash animation about waging peace came across my email today. It is evidently from a company that sells educational materials to schools. This sort of thing helps keep my spirits up... I know there are other people in the world who read the same quotes I do, who believe that peace is possible. There are lots of teammates and allies out there working in their own spheres to bring peace to their lives, their communities and the world. I just have to do my part.
