I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to write or read my friends journals this week! Work was really busy and I've been busy in the evenings. We're getting ready for the end of the fiscal year and our annual Japanese visitor influx. This year instead of being a regular review we're having a wide range of visitors from different departments. It is so neat watching Peter (our CEO and head of the research lab) help the different groups craft their story of what they do. He is so very good at seeing things and helping draw out the interconnections and fundamentals. We are fortunate in having a very good bunch of scientists several of whom are also excellent managers. I really like working with these folks and I'm being reminded of why daily this time of year.

Last night we had "movie night" with Penny & Richard & Petra & Chris. We watched Orgazmo, the Trey Parker film. It was just as funny as I remembered it being and we had a great time. I made an array of munchies (tuna, smoked turkey, strawberries, olives, cheese, rye bread & crackers and lemon cake) and Richard brought popcorn and beer. What fun!

Today I took my car back to get the leaks they found at my regular service last Friday fixed. Almost $900 in repairs, over $1000 with last week's work. Just what I *didn't* need six weeks before a trip to Europe! Oh well, better just before than just afterward. I will just have to be more frugal. *sigh* At least I've already paid for my airfare. This makes Michael's gift of his flat even more welcome. It is good to have friends.

I am thankful for my life. I have a good job that I enjoy, a beloved family and many wonderful friends. I have a beautiful home and leisure to travel. I am truly blessed.
