Tuesday thoughts

Kurt & I managed our 3-1/2 mile walk today. For the first time ever I didn't stop in the last patch of shade before the crest of the worst hill. Go me. OTOH, I'm up two pounds. *sigh* Between Kurt's migraines and my cold this is the first walk we've managed in almost two weeks.
I finished Berna's search and had about 1/2 an hour if work time left and really just didn't feel like cleaning my desk (although I admit it *must* be done!) and so I worked on the invite for the New Year's party. I think it turned out really fun. Kurt & Russell both insisted that I say "AarrgghhSVP". I hereby disclaim all responsibility for this pun! *giggle* I will be handing out invites to folks I see, if you want one emailed as a pdf, just let me know.
We had a small (7 people) Tuesday dinner last night. Fondue and bread and veggies and most excellent conversation.
oceansong came by toward the end and we had a small visit before I just fell into bed. I am *so* looking forward to the four days of holiday! Sleeping late, working on projects, catching up on email, reading my friend's Ljs. Yay!

Date: 2003-11-26 10:38 pm (UTC)At least you had dinner. That evening while the gentle banter of Tuesday night dinner went on, I was stuck in Portland airport. I found a cheap $200 round trip fare to between Seattle to San Jose instead of the $450 direct flight. The direct flights are usually cheap but Thanksgiving or near T-day flights have premiums added to them. Anyway, my flight was to take a puddle jumper, a Bombadier 32 seater from Seattle to Portland then catch a Portland to San Jose flight. Problem was the Portland flight was delayed by three hours due to system delays that accumulated througghout the day. The Portland to San Jose flight is part of a much longer cross country leg, so I fell prey to that mess up. Oh well, the little Powell's bookstore at the airport was a nice place to hang out. A bit of Foster's and dinner help too. Too bad no one serves Terminator beer.
Big hugs,
Rene
