Moonrise and other things

I started out this morning with about four hours of working on the Cooper Co., MO genealogy database. It was good to get back to that after not working very hard for awhile. I'm systematizing the 1919 biographies finally. This activity was punctuated by comfort cuddles and helping Russell remember what he needed to take on his business trip. We've been together for 20 years and it is probably less than 20 times that we have been apart for 5 days. Wah! Even when he is working late and I am off at meetings, we still get to cuddle and sleep within each other's arms. The world is always a little off kilter when we're apart.
Eventually, I got up and vacuumed, did laundry and other maintenance tasks. I made about 4 doz. chocolate chip cookies for the Moonrise concert using the frozen dough Fiona sold as a school fundraiser. They weren't bad but Russell's home made are much better. IMNSHO.
I restrained myself from heading up to the City and shopping before the concert. I wrote the check for the bill for the car repairs, etc. this morning and I really am a bit fiscally embarrassed. It just seems a shame not to be able to combine City trips. And it isn't as though I *need* anything. But as sure as I browse my favorite shops with no money all sorts of cool things will be there. *laugh* So I stayed away from temptation.
I made it to the Presidio just about 7pm to help set up the COG reception for the interfaith folk who came out to hear Moonrise. The concert was really excellent and the acoustics at the Interfaith Center are fabulous (there is a recording studio that operates there because of this). So the concert was recorded, hopefully some tracks will make it onto their upcoming CD. They have a new member who seems to be an excellent addition with strong vocal and instrumental skills. DJ & Robin will be singing at the Interfaith Pagan Pride Parade Sunday week.
I can't believe I'm awake at 1am. The drive back from the City once again made me wish for a better user interface on the iPod. *sigh* I just don't have the #$(# menus memorized and finally pulled off the highway to change my selections. I hope cars soon have giant hard drives for music. Not that I'm in the market for a new car, yet. I am enjoying Russell's joy in his new car though. He drove down Hwy 1 on his way to his conference today. Fun thing to do in a new car. He's in the nautical room of the Madonna Inn at the moment. Probably asleep like I ought to be. Okay, I'm going to bed!

Date: 2003-04-06 04:28 am (UTC)Wow, I really understand that one! Charles and I have spent almost every night together since we started seeing each other, and separations of even 2 or 3 days are hard on each of us. Both of us find it difficult to sleep without the other near.
The Madonna Inn is such fun!
