Monterey weekend
Jun. 4th, 2012 10:52 amRussell and I had a lovely weekend in Monterey. We ate wonderful food, found some caches and went to the Aquarium. The 60's-style jellyfish exhibit was a blast (psychedelic!) and I really loved all the sea horses, sea dragons and such in the Sea horse exhibit. We hit many of my favorite places to eat - lunch at Rosine's, drinks and appetizers at Jack's, dinner at Rappa's, breakfast at the Old Monterey Cafe. <3
We went out to Point Lobos and did the nice handicap trail (Seal Rock?) and took pictures. But oh my the wind was cold despite the sunny day. This weather we are having is crazy! I took a break, sitting in the car to warm up and Russell headed off on another trail. He twisted his ankle and came limping back. That was the end of our trip.
We headed to a nearby Safeway for an ace bandage and frozen peas and I drove us home so he could get his foot elevated. Happily I had plenty of ibuprofen in my purse. We stopped at Garlic World for takeaway BBQ pork on the way home so we didn't have to worry about cooking dinner. Easy for me to say, but despite the mishap to Russell's ankle, I had a wonderful weekend!
