It has been a good week. Interesting at work as folks gave dry runs preparing for our annual review. I always liked getting the overview of what is going on in the Lab. On May morning Russell and I got up and went to the Baylands as usual to watch the Morris sides dance up the sun. This year we had the treat of having a 14 woman Morris side from Somerset, England, join the fun. I loved their white chemises with burgundy pinafores with colourful ribbons - they fit everyone's body and looked festive and attractive. They are evidently touring the US currently and how lucky we were to have them for Mayday.

Orixa radio is very loud in my head these days. My headwash is coming up on June 21 and I am spending time every day in meditation with Pombagira. Yesterday and today I worked on my necklace for the ceremony. My hands are entirely banjaxed but it is finished. We (Pomba & I, for I assure you she makes her opinion loud and clear) have been collecting beads for months. We have quite an excess of beads by now. We spent much of yesterday (for Friday is Pomba's day) assembling pieces and charting the design. I strung it (to show the design) and meant to pass it on to Ember today at the At Home, for she had offered to string it with pearl knotting. But in her absence I brought it home again and I guess it needed to be finished for it is. It doesn't look quite the same today as yesterday but is more symmetrical and we are very happy with it. We ate a cognac chocolate in celebration of putting it in Her sopera to gather Axé and the taste of that lingers in my mouth like a kiss. Who needs hands when one has the kiss of a Goddess?

I slept something like 10 hours last night and I may well do the same tonight. Being an Orixa radio receiver is rather tiring. Or perhaps it is only the process of being tuned that is tiring. Hopefully after the headwash when that spot on the dial is set, it won't be so bad. One most sincerely hopes. I am very, very glad that I am not young and pliant (was I every pliant?), or at any rate that I have a trained will. Pomba is rather pushy and I am very glad that I can push back. We will come to a reasonable accomodation I'm sure. After all we have been friends for years. But some folks get weird as the wedding approaches and she seems to be one of them. I have to keep reminding her that I'm poly and have other obligations. *wry smile* I think I'm going to take this very tired body off to bed. G'night all.
