Life, Second Life and no email
May. 2nd, 2007 09:06 pmTuesday Rayna & I slept in and then were joined by my Dad. We went to the Old Alligator Grill and ate great Cajun food - I had crawdad etouffe, Dad had gumbo and Rayna had spicey shrimp plus we split an order of beignets. *happy sigh* They weren't at all busy so we just sat around and visited for a couple of hours before Dad & I took Rayna to the airport. Then we went and picked up his volleyball team's shirts for the big championship coming up. Dad is captaining a over-75 team called the Textras. They may also play in the over-70 league. I admit to being slightly unclear on the details. The over 75 guys come from all over though since there aren't that many senior athletes. We ate quiche and had a quiet evening. There were tornadoes and thunderstorms and baseball/softball sized hail stones in the news but luckily all outside of town. It does look like a clear window for my flight home though.
I took an inworld class on "making your own Japanese garden" that taught how to make the basic 2-prim plants that are a staple of SL gardening. I have some pictures I've taken and using the knowledge from the class I've made my first original clump of flowers. It is a start. *grin*
Today Dad & I had breakfast at the Austin diner and then drove out to check out the Round Rock Outlet Mall. Dad needed socks and I needed bras and we both succeeded in our quest. Bali no longer makes the bra I've worn for the last decade or more so I get three different styles to try out. *sigh* The mall was full of identical stores with different names selling variations on pastel clothes and blue jeans. Yuck. Second Life's wardrobe choices are so spoiling me and the real world is so disappointing me. I am ready for cornucopia machines or other magic/science fabricator that allows readily available custom clothes. SL-style appearance sliders to get rid of my stomach would also be good, of course. *grin*
So, I'm home safe and sound. My ISP has been down for a couple of days and looks to continue down through the weekend so my conjure mail is bouncing. If you really need to email me, please use my gmail account (my usual handle).
