The weekend
Feb. 13th, 2006 04:18 pmI kept meaning to write things as they happened in the last week but I just haven't felt like sitting at the computer. I've been working on the desktop machine at home layout on the Green Book updates. Boy that isn't ergonomically set up for me. But the revisions are coming along.
Last Wednesday
mr_kurt and
saffronrose and I went to the San Jose Rep. The show, The Immigrant was great. It tells the story of a young Russian Jew who winds up in a small Texas town in 1909. It follows his fortunes and his family's relationship with older couple who befriend him. Even though my ancestors had a very different history, this was a very universal story and I was moved, amused, saddened and uplifted by turns by his trials and triumphs. Definitely recommended.
Friday I mostly worked on the Green Book. No caching or anything. Well, an optometrist appointment and lunch with Russell at the Spaghetti Factory. Friday evening we had a lovely Owl Moon circle. We worked on finding our coven's western guardian.
Saturday morning I joined Kurt & Arthur on a trip to Santa Cruz. We found five caches and had lunch at the Wharf. It was great fun. I had figured out several caches that were big enough to have swag for Arthur and we also grabbed a micro at the Wharf just 'cause we were there.
Saturday afternoon Reaps came by and we had a nice visit. After he took off I went back to the Green Book and got to bed at a reasonable hour.
Saturday I was up and out to the dress rehearsal for the Brighid ritual. We had the usual (and lucky) dress rehearsal screw-ups. It should be quite something. I love the energy of the rehearsed participants and I think we'll do some excellent work. I do worry that there isn't enough inclusion of the non-rehearsed participants. We shall see.
I met Sarah at Tropix for lunch and then we headed out caching. We started at one of the Series of Unfortunate Caches - The Grim Grotto. *laugh* I loved the Lemony Snicket theme. Then we did the series of Rock Park caches. I love those rock parks! I would love to live in that area. I'd love to have grown up in that area, surrounded by amazing rocks. I am such a rock Witch! We ended with another Unfortunate Cache, The Slippery Slope, where we were amazed by stunning sunsets. My little camera didn't being to capture it but I had to try. Here is the picture from my cache log:
