work and dancing
May. 23rd, 2003 06:18 amWednesday - I worked and got things done. I had lunch at Swagat with Valerie from the Bridge to plan our menu for an upcoming meeting at my house. We realized we had a really good idea about religious dietary restrictions but weren't sure about the preferences and allergies of our committee. Hopefully the mushroom/cashew stroganoff (with ground turkey in the meat variety) will be okay!
My energy was totally gone by the time I headed home. It was all I could do not to go to bed at 8pm.
ocean_song and I sat up and visited, having a good chat about life, the universe and everything. When I finally allowed myself to go bed I was out like a light. *wry grin*
Thursday - Working hard retrieving patents mostly. Then Marina came up and we went to Suraj for lunch. Indian two days in a row! Yum. After work Kurt came by and picked me up and we headed down to Santa Cruz for country dancing. I had so much fun at the Playford that I said I'd try to come down and dance at least once a month. With Russell still in London this seemed like a good Thursday to do so. Also because BayCon starts on Friday Kurt is taking the day off so we don't have to get up early to head north. Going over the hill I was dozing. I just haven't gotten entirely back into this time zone. But dancing perked me up. My friend Bob was there without his wife Teri, so I had a fairly steady partner. Plus I got to dance one with Kurt and a couple with a nice fellow named Jeff (Geoff?).
Marina had brought strawberries left over from the Morris Ale and they were very sweet and good. I wasn't *really* hungry having eaten heartily at lunch so that was a perfect "dinner". I really need to get back into the farmer's market habit. Since they paved the one I used to go to to put up Santana Row I haven't found one I like that is close, convenient and has a decent number of booths.
Back at the house we had a snifter of Fournier cognac (Marina couldn't resist the name, of course) and retired. They have a lovely guest bed with lots of comforters and pillows. (Of course, I had brought my *own* pillow, being picky :-)
