Happy Equinox

Yesterday, after a certain amount of foolin' around and getting things done around the house, Russell and I went off to see the movie Laurel Canyon. I really liked the characters but I like a little more plot than that. I loved the house and Frances McDormand's character.

Then we got ourselves ready for our Spring Equinox circle (for which we were responsible0 and the coven class that started at 4pm (not by us). It was a good class and then one of our covensisters had to go see her father in the hospital for awhile so the rest of us hung out an visited for a couple of hours. That was really nice. We don't often get a chance to just hang out with the (almost) whole group. In the language of the URI we are a doing rather than a being group. *LOL* When Angharad got back, we turned the wheel and feasted together. It was a very nice equinox.

Friday and Saturday were really quite spring-like but today it is grey and raining. Oh well. The plants will be happy. Everything is blooming! I can feel my own energy rising as well. I love spring!

In a few hours Marina will be here and Russell will drive us in his beautiful new car up to Rakkasah. Yay! One of my favorite springtime events. His car is just about the color of my favorite nail polish, a deep red with purple tones. It is very quiet and comfortable. He is totally jazzed with having it.

Rakkasah & Anniversary thoughts

We got off to a late start for Rakkasah this morning. Marina had a hard time getting over the hill. Rain and Hwy 17 just don't mix very well. Thus we only stayed for a few hours. Wow. I'm beat. And I didn't even get to watch any of the dancing. I think I hit all the vendors though. I bought some tassles for my tassle belt. I got a blue choli and a couple of cheap cotton scarves to perhaps cut up for my water costume. And that is it! A very cheap year. I really should have bought a black tribal skirt but I didn't. I know I'll have to some time. But I feel exhausted and yet unfulfilled. I usually watch a lot of dancing. Oh well. Next year.

Today, Russell and I have been living together for 20 years. We decided we want to go to dinner at Kyoto Palace for o ur anniversary dinner so we'll go on Wednesday or Thursday. They're closed Sundays. So is our other choice. What's with this Sunday closing!? Anyway, I'm so glad that 20 years ago after driving from Florida with all the adventures across the country, at a round 8am on March 23rd I climbed into bed with a sleeping Russell. A fitting beginning for a wonderful love match. :-)
