Feb. 19th, 2003 07:20 amBack at work after the Con... there is always a day of adjustment. I miss hanging out with friends! I'm not ready to be back in my office all alone. *laugh* At least its a short week. And I don't have any meetings or
Russell and I went to see DareDevil last night. I didn't mind watching it but found it choppy and shallow. If you hadn't read DD it was full of things that didn't make much sense. And Ben Affleck was pretty wooden and *really* didn't do DD justice. I liked Jennifer Garner as Elektra more than I expected to; I like that she did her own stunts. Mainly going to a 7:20 show kept me up too late. I am so tired this morning!
sbisson posted this magnetic poetry thing. I don't think I quite get it but http://diveintomark.org/magnetic/rowanf.livejournal.com for what its worth.
*happy dance* My friend Michael and his partner just offered us their flat in London when we're there in May. That is such a blessing! The guys will be in residence in Bath (we'll go have dinner with them there) and the London flat will be free. It has a nice central location about 1-1/2 blocks from the tube. I'm totally jazzed!!
My favorite quote that came through the email about peace marches last weekend.
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction.... The chain reaction of evil -- hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars -- must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation."
Martin Luther King, Jr., Strength To Love, 1963
I was sorry to miss the San Jose march... it started at 11am on Saturday at the same time as my talk at PantheaCon. The starting point was Roosevelt Park... four blocks from my house! How convenient would *that* have been! And I wouldn't have had to feel guilty about driving alone in my car all the way to SF to march. I will be *so* glad when we have weekend train service again!
