Unshared interests meme from
sbisson and
brisingamen
Most of mine are interfaith and/or religion related.
amuh - American Magic Umbanda House. I really can't imagine why I'm the only one since there are folks I read here who are members (and I'm not... yet)
cooperation circles - this is the basic unit of the United Religions Initiative... another of my unshared interests
cpwr - Council for the Parliament of the World's Religions, the folks who put on the event, the Parliament of the World's Religions which is evidently too long to have as an interest.
eco-cities - self explanatory. I suspect there are folks who share the interest but used a different term.
huichol art - I especially like this art form because it is traditionally a record of otherworld journeys taken by Huichol shamans and I recognize some of the things they've seen. I love that they have a visual language of symbols about their journeys that resonates with mine.
inis glas - the tradition of Celtic Reconstructionism pioneered by Erynn Laurie. My CR practice is in the style of this tradition.
meals with friends - another undoubtably shared interest that is said in other ways.
romano-celtic archaeology (interestingly enough romano-celtic religion *is* a shared interest) - I am actually interested in pretty much all European prehistoric archaelogy... but this is what my major book buying seems to gravitate toward.
sacred connections - a Bay Area sacred sexuality group. Not too surprising that I'm the only one.
subscription dinners - This is where all the subscribers pay the price of the meal on a regular basis. I give one once a month. At mine, folks pay the cost of ingredients and bring drinks.
united religions initiative - an international interfaith organization whose purpose is to promote enduring, daily interfaith cooperation, to end religiously motivated violence and to create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings.
world peace prayer society - promoting the world peace prayer which was written in Japan after Hiroshima. In the full form one has the flags of all the nations of the world. As each flag is carried forward the people say "May there be peace among the [flag] people, May Peace Prevail on Earth". In interfaith we use flags represenating the religions of the world. The first time I heard a chapel full of people says "May there be peace among the Wiccan people, May Peace Prevail on Earth", I cried.
worldconnect - a genealogy database hosted by Rootsweb to which folks add their gedcoms. There are more than 239 million names on file at the moment and it is a great place to find cousins working on the same lines.
I did notice someone else shares my interest "visionary activism" and added her as a friend. *wry grin* It is nice to examine interests from time to time!
I'm not sure I shouldn't have put more ingredients in, but I note that both
kightp and
wldrose would both eat my preferred pizza with me (except Ash would leave off the gorgonzola which is okay by me). :-) I think the three of us having pizza together would be the coolest thing. Of course if Jez, Ash & I actually got together a singularity might commence. ;-)
Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Feta, Gorgonzola, Onions, Kalamata Olives, Sundried tomatoes, Fresh Basil, Garlic Cloves, Oregano, and a perfectly-baked crust.
If I put in everything I'm willing to eat on a pizza, Jez & I would share
Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Feta, Gorgonzola, Parmesan, Asiago, Onions, Mushrooms, Black Olives, Kalamata Olives, Fresh Tomatoes, Sundried tomatoes, Arugula, Fresh Basil, Garlic Cloves, Garlic Chives, Basil Pesto, Sausage, Ground Beef, Basil, Oregano, and a perfectly-baked crust.
Hmm. I don't think so. Not on a single pizza!
